On 25 October 2017, the Ambassador of Benin to the Kingdom of Norway, His Excellency Mr. Eusèbe Agbangla, had a working meeting with Mr. Kjell Roland, Chief Executive Officer of the Norwegian Investment Fund for Developing Countries (NORFUND). The Ambassador was accompanied for the occasion by Mr. Norbert Tity, Attaché, Head of the Department of Economic and Commercial Affairs and Marketing at the Embassy, as well as Mr. Jacob Akinocho, Chairman of the Board of Directors of “Net One” Company and Mr. Nicolas Gomez, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of “NG Associates”.
The discussions focused on the financing possibilities that NORFUND could offer to Beninese businessmen as part of their investment projects.
The Fund was established by the Norwegian Government in 1997 for financing in developing countries. It operates mainly in sub-Saharan Africa where its regional headquarters were opened in 2017 in Accra, Ghana, and also in some countries in South-East Asia and Central America. NORFUND’s priority sectors are Clean Energy, Financial Institutions, and Food and Agribusiness.
